ROUND 1 - 6 March 2010

Drifting in South Africa has come full circle!  For those that have read the latest Speed & Sound and seen Otto Gravens antics in the D1 Street Legal event in Japan, its time to visit East London, and check out the next round of the National Drift Series because we have a little surprise for you.  From Ebisu circuit in the mountains of rural Japan we bring you none other than Nobishige Kumakubo!  Kuma as his known back in Japan will be judging the upcoming Round 1 of NDS and will be conducting a drift school for NDS Drifters. He is the leading member of Team Orange, a Former D1 Champion and probably one of the best known drifters in the world.  To compete in the competition he has brought with, arguably the top female drifter in the world. She goes by the name Drift Queen and when you see her drive, you'll know why! Other points of interest will be the return of International Drift Judge Hiroke Furuse, also from Team Orange who will be assisted by South African Judge, Sarel van der Merwe & Ernest Page.

Our local heroes will be in action and you can expect to see Championship Leader Adam Scheffer back in action. He will be taking on the other title contenders for the 2009 championship. This event will be the final in the 2009 championship as well as the first round of the 2010 championship.  Wade van Zummerman , Quinsley Sale, Otto Graven, Jacques Lemmer, Faheem Salie,Tim Stephens , Ronnie Graven spinners come drifters,  Shane(German) and Shaun(Hitler) among many others will be on the track ready to entertain and thrill the huge crowds expected at this years season finale. The local East London crowd can also watch out for homegrown driver Michael Radloff who will have everything to play for at this event.
